Hi, I’m Vince Ferguson, President of Body Sculpt of New York, Inc. On Saturday March 27th, I will be walking in our 2nd Annual Walk-A-Thon for Children’s Health in Prospect Park, Brooklyn.
The purpose of the Walk-A-Thon is two fold: (1) to raise awareness about the health of our children; and (2) to raise funds for our upcoming Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo on June 12th. Childhood obesity is one of our greatest health challenges. Overweight children often become overweight adults, which is why I created the Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo. Studies have shown that if you introduce children to physical activity and proper nutrition, they will continue well into their adult lives.
The Children’s Sports & Fitness Expo engages children in over 25 sports activities, nutrition clinics and health screenings—totally free. I believe it you introduce children to a variety of activities, they will find one that they enjoy and will continue in their adults lives. Each year up to 5,000 children have attended the Expo in Brooklyn and Manhattan, which is now in its 7th year.
